Why in sulphuric acid used as a catalyst in salicylic acid and methanol reaction, rather than HCl and HNO3?

I know that salicylic acid react with methanol produce methyl salicylate and water, it is a equlibrium. If you are willing to answer this question, please just focus on the catalyst (H2SO4), tell more detail if you are willing to. Thanks.
