How do the American Voting System works?

The electoral votes are based on how the people of the state votes. When it is determined how the state goes, those electoral votes are awarded to the nominee. Electoral votes are determined by population of the state. It's Truly a bad way to elect someone. Popular vote is really the only true way of electing someone! We do it for everything else other than President.
