What tv show am i thinking of?

it was a tv show in the 80's about a couple who each had about 3 children. They get married and all have to live together. The Mum was played by Susan Somers and i think there was a hairdressers in her garage which she owned and worked in. And one of her sons was quite geeky and brainy and wore gles. I saw him on Beethoven 2 last weekend and can't remember what show he is from. Can you help?
