Don't u hate it when ur ex contacts u and ur not ready to deal with it, yet?!!?

It's bn about 5 months since we broke up n we have had a lil contact.. but the last time was 3 months ago. In the last few days he has emailed me with news about a new job n a road trip he's taking. I replied n wished him luck but asked NO questions of him bcuz I am not comfortable with contact rt now. I am still hurting. Quite honestly, I want us to get bk together...but not rt now. I hv things in my head to work out. I feel pain when I hear from him cuz his letters r so casual. I dont want to ask him for "no contact' bcuz then I might blow any chance of getting bk together. What should I do??
