Is it normal for your legs to feel stiff 10 mins after stretching?

I do kickboxing and the stretches i do for it dont seem to make me any more flexible, in fact after about 10 mins of a stretch, i feel exactly the same as i did before stretching, i dont seem to be making much improvement, how long does it take for my flexibility to improve and how many times should i stretch a day?
